The dbot Thread
« on: 14 September 2017, 12:15:57 AM »
Welcome to the dbot thread, the thread dedicated to everyone's second-favourite chatbot.  Here's where I make announcements for upcoming changes, and you can make requests for new features, and I can in turn explain why I'm too lazy to implement them.

-----

It's been over two months since I implemented the new priority system, and the last of the old welcomes are almost out of the queue. Starting sometime today, dbot welcomes based on current events will move through the queue faster (compared to other welcomes submitted by me; welcomes submitted by other users and welcomes tagged for a specific user or event will have an even higher priority, as has been the case for the past couple months).

There is one problem, though. These higher priority welcomes have been piling up as dbot has been going through the old welcomes. Once those are done, expect to have over fifty welcomes based on "current events".

What I'm saying is that you should expect about a week of nothing but Trump welcomes.

Once that's done and over with, things will go back to normal, and topical welcomes will be used when they're still relevant (no more 'covfefe' jokes months after they're old). But still. Brace yourselves for the oncoming storm.

I just realized it's been over a year since I started allowing user-submitted welcomes. So here are the high scores (number of permitted welcomes) for the 2016-2017 season (everything between 2016-08-12 and 2017-08-11):

Sylae247
Sudanna152
Arancaytar144
Nikki130
Tyran100
Thynar50
Dikiyoba43
Rose27
Luca24
Iffy19
Actaeon18
Trenton10
Callie9
Gabriel1
Lauren1

Best of luck for the 2017-2018 season!

EDIT: 2016-08-12 is the first day that user-submitted welcomes were displayed, but those welcomes were submitted (long) before that date. However, I don't have records for the submit times for those early welcomes, so I guess our inaugural season will be a bit longer than subsequent ones.

:3 do you have stats for rejected? curious to see if there's a correlation there
(16:27:39) Iffy: Sylae, I'm being fucked so hard right now.

(22:29:53) Iffy: I ALREADY CLOP TO MLP.

(18:00:48) Lobehold: SYLAE YOU BITCH
(18:00:50) Lobehold: REMOD ME

(19:01:00) Dintiradan: But still, as a general rule of thumb, RPGs shouldn't have a stat for penis size.

(17:12:58) Arancaytar just saw a disembodied vulva swallow a person whole.

I think half of Aran's is from a group of albums where he tried to submit every song individually. Only I get to do that.

A couple of days ago, Nikki was wondering about who discovered which dbot easter egg. So I've gone through the logs to find the answer:

Nikki: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2016/10/01.html#14:19:52.992487
Callie: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2016/10/08.html#14:06:37.836443
Nikki: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2016/11/01.html#19:52:06.671149
Nikki: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2016/11/05.html#23:09:09.720068
Callie: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2016/11/21.html#19:00:40.460092 (this one was inadvertently triggered by me a couple of times; I've since fixed it so that I can't trigger easter eggs anymore)
Luca: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2017/01/09.html#22:59:05.831524 (this one was triggered a bunch of times because it appeared in URLs; I've also fixed that bug) (also, I've changed the URL)
Vergil: https://calref.net/xmpp/log/lounge@conference.calref.net/2017/04/25.html#21:43:47.117525 (this has a 1 in 5000 chance of happening)

I can also confirm that there is at least one easter egg that has not been found.

I found out dbot just kinda looks at you when you say "hello humans!". Not sure if it's an easter egg or what.
